The Winicunca mountain, mountain of colors, located in the district of Pitumarca, province of Canchis, Cusco region. Located at an approximate height of 5,020 m.a.s.l. Today frequented and visited by more than 1,000 tourists a day in high season. Near it you can see the Ausangate Mountain, the fifth highest mountain in the Peruvian territory at a height of 6,384 m.a.s.l. The Rainbow Mountain, as it is also known by many visitors, mixes beautiful landscapes, customs and traditions typical of the Andean villages of our Cusco region. In the same way we can appreciate beautiful specimens of alpacas, lamas, etc.
We will pick you up at your respective accommodation or hotel at 4:00 hrs to 4:30 hrs, then start our incredible adventure by driving 3 hours in our tourist transport through the South Valley through different towns such as Urcos, Quiquijana until you reach the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, then continue our journey to the beginning of the path called Phulawasipata (4,600 m/ 15,091 ft.). Along this road there are stunning views of agricultural terraces, canyons and snowy mountains.
Once you arrive at the beginning of the trail our guide will give you a small instruction of the area and the last reaches to finally start a walk of approximately 1 hour 30 minutes for a moderate climb. During the trip we will have the opportunity to appreciate a variety of South American camelids or cameloids, spectacular ecosystems of this place and beautiful views of the snowy Ausangate.
At approximately 10:00 hrs we will arrive at our destination called Winicunca or Rainbow Mountain (5,020 m / 16,466 ft.). Here you will have enough time to enjoy this unique landscape that the capriciously shaped geography can also take spectacular views of this place that seems hand painted and brush. After our visit to the mountain of colors we will return to the starting point, the walk will take approximately 50 minutes of descent until we return to this point, where our private transport will be waiting for us to take us back to the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, and after a short break we will begin the return trip to Cusco arriving at approximately 17:30 hrs.
