The Q’eswachaka Bridge is a suspension Inca bridge made of vegetable fiber (Ichu) that crosses the Apurimac River in a cascaded part and belongs to the district of Quehue in the province of Canas, department of Cusco. It is currently the nation’s cultural heritage. This beautiful building is renovated in the month of June of each year, it combines perfectly with nature and landscape. Located in a canyon where the river and erosion seem to have cut the side rocks so harmoniously for thousands of years to create this impressive work of art. It is undoubtedly an Inca wonder that remains in time as if it had stopped, to be able to cross it or just appreciate its majesty or beauty, it is simply beautiful to visit this place
We will begin our adventure from 4:30 hrs with the pick up of our passengers from their corresponding accommodations and once the whole group is concentrated at 5:00 hrs, we will begin our tour in our tourist transport through some districts from Cusco Our first stop will be in Combapata, where we will stop to use the hygienic services and enjoy the continental breakfast. Then we will go to the Combapata viewpoint continuing with the tour we will pass through the district of Yanaoca (one of the 8 districts of the province of Canas). Then we will continue our tour for one more hour and we will arrive at the Q’ewe district where the famous “Q’eswachaka” Inca Bridge is located, which is built on vegetable fiber and has a length of 28.67 meters. The surprising thing is that it is rebuilt once a year in the month of June by four local communities, in this place we will have time to explore Q’eswachaka and the surrounding area, while your guide will tell you the history of this Inca engineering work .
After visiting the Bridge, we will return to Combapata to enjoy our lunch, once having lunch we will make a digestive walk until we reach a viewpoint where we will appreciate the lagoons: Pampamarca and Asnacqocha, then we will go to another point of a viewpoint from we will appreciate the lagoons of Acopia and Pomacanchi observing a large amount of regional flora and fauna experiencing an enriched Andean culture. After making the circuit of the 4 lagoons we will finally return to reach Cusco in our tourist transport for an average of 2 hours, arriving at approximately 16:30 hrs or 17:00 hrs.
